What inspired you to start this business, and how did your personal journey lead you here?
“Hello! I am Allyson, owner of The Maid’s Quarters Bed, Breakfast and Tearoom. I am a Pennsylvania native, originally from Allentown, who grew up in the kitchen with my mom and Grammy. Since the age of 18, I have wanted to own a bed and breakfast. My journey began in 2007 when I took my college internship at a B&B in Bethlehem. Following that, I worked for two different B&B’s until 2010. In the beginning of 2011, I had the opportunity to move to Pottsvillenand open The Maid’s Quarters where I began my 13th year in April 2023. The Maid’s Quarters has grown from a two-room B&B to a four-room B&B with an on-site tearoom.”

Allyson Chryst purchased The Maid’s Quarters in Pottsville more than 13 years ago and has expanded the business ever since. It’s grown from a two-room B&B to a four-room operation. She also proudly offers unique scones at the business and other locations in Schuylkill County. (Submitted photos)
