Amber Chick came to Hayley Barry’s storefront outside Cressona as one of its vendors, back when the shop opened last year. The two are now partners in a 2,500-square-foot event space on the other side of the same building.
The Venue on the Trail, co-owned by Barry and Chick, opened at 154 Gordon Nagle Trail in North Manheim Township, just outside Cressona. It occupies the side of the building that houses Beauty Bee Storefront: On the Trail, the former Trail Gardens store.
Barry, of Hegins, opened the storefront in July 2025. Chick, of Pottsville, was one of its vendors before the two became business partners.
The venue books parties, showers, weddings, celebrations and corporate events.

“It goes closely hand-in-hand with what we already do,” Barry says.
“We have the space now to do events and pop-ups in here that will tie into the store,” she says. “It’s something that we talked about for a long time, that it would be really nice to have an event space for the community. You don’t have a lot of them around here. The ones you do have are on the higher price end. This would be a good option to have.”
The Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting at the venue on Aug. 8, with chamber representatives and local officials on hand.

At the ribbon cutting, Chick told the crowd gathered to watch that the two had spent “countless hours envisioning this space, this business, and this partnership.”
“This venue has been a dream of ours for quite some time,” she said. “To finally see it come to life … is something we will never forget.”
She described the goal as “creating a space where our community can come together and celebrate some of their biggest moments.”
Barry says the calendar is already filling.

“Less nervous now that the doors are open but very excited,” she says. “We have a lot of bookings already. Now we’re just trying to spread the word and fill the calendar.”
The Venue on the Trail can be reached at 445-242-3904 or venueonthetrail@gmail.com. Booking information is available at hbportal.co, and the business is on Facebook as The Venue on the Trail.
