A Schuylkill County man was taken into custody after police say he physically assaulted a woman and threatened her life during an argument in Pine Grove recently.
State Police say they were called to a home on N. Tulpehocken St. shortly before 5 p.m. on March 29 for a report of two or three people yelling on an open 9-1-1 line. Upon arrival, police say they made contact with Timothy Savidge Jr., 33, of Pine Grove, and a female victim in the living room.
The victim told police she and Savidge engaged in an argument over her not wanting a relationship with him and over a missing jersey. The victim stated she went to her third-floor bedroom and closed the door, which Savidge then kicked in.
According to police, the victim said Savidge grabbed her throat area and pushed her backward up the staircase. The victim stated she kicked Savidge in the stomach to get him off her, at which point he grabbed her by the feet and dragged her down the stairs. The victim told police this resulted in injuries to multiple fingernails.
During the altercation, the victim told police Savidge stated, “I could blow your f***ing brains out,” prompting her to call 9-1-1.
The victim showed police a silver .357-caliber Ruger revolver on a shelf near the front door, stating she did not know who owned the firearm and that it stayed downstairs during the incident. The victim also told police she used her phone to take a video of the altercation.
When questioned by police on the front porch, Savidge stated he kicked in the bedroom door during an argument over his missing jersey, but said the altercation never became physical. Savidge told police that shortly after the argument, the victim came into his bedroom, gave him a hug, and consoled him. He also stated he did not know who owned the revolver.
Police seized the firearm as evidence and transported Savidge to the police station for processing.
Savidge was arraigned on two misdemeanor counts of simple assault and one for making terrorist threats, as well as a summary offense for harassment. Magisterial District Judge James Reiley set bail at 10% of $15,000, which was posted the next day. A preliminary hearing in this case is scheduled for May 21.
In another case pending in District Court, Savidge is charged with misdemeanor counts of simple assault and making terroristic threats, as well as summary counts of harassment and disorderly conduct. A preliminary hearing on those charges is scheduled for April 23.
