A Schuylkill County woman is facing a felony charge of intimidating a victim after police say they told her not to retaliate over a previous incident involving her daughters.
According to court documents filed by police in Frackville, the incident that brought about the charges filed against 39-year-old Mariah Dixon, of Frackville, stemmed from something that happened earlier the same day.
Back on June 22, police Say they were called to W. Washington St. in the borough at about 7:30 p.m. for a reported disturbance that was no longer in progress. The alleged victim told police that Dixon’s two daughters began yelling at her as she tried to find a parking spot. The daughters reportedly claimed that the victim was staring at them and trying to start something.
The victim reportedly told police that Dixon’s daughters then stared knocking on her door, threatening her, and trying to get her to come outside.
At about 9 p.m., police say they called Dixon to let her know that they’d be filing charges against her daughters for harassment and disorderly conduct. Upon hearing that, Dixon reportedly became irate and started yelling at police. Dixon reportedly told police that she is aware of the incident and that she knows who complained to them.
Police say they warned Dixon not to retaliate.
But at about 9:15 p.m., police say they got a call from the victim of the incident earlier who said that Dixon was now out in the middle of Washington St. yelling at her and her daughter. She said that Dixon was saying things like, “That b**ch over there needs to keep her mouth shut,” and other statements of a similar tune.
Police say they attempted to take Dixon into custody but she ran into her house and refused to be cuffed. Dixon had to be pulled from home and her hands had to be forced behind her back so police could cuff her, police report.
Dixon was arraigned before District Magistrate Judge AJ Serina shortly after midnight on June 23 and charged with intimidating a witness/victim and disorderly conduct.
A preliminary hearing on those charges is scheduled for July 9.
