An arrest warrant has been issued for a Schuylkill County man accused of assaulting and injuring two women earlier this month.
According to court documents, police in Tamaqua were called to a home on N. Greenwood St. about about 10:15 p.m. on June 12 for a reported disturbance.
At the scene, police were met by two women who say the suspect – identified as 54-year-old Jammy Lawson, of Tamaqua – assaulted them.
As the women entered a home there, they say Lawson pushed one of them and called her a “bitch”. The other woman told police she tried to calm Lawson down by telling him to go outside and smoke.
Lawson responded by allegedly pushing her out of the front door of the home, where she fell on the ground. He then reportedly picked up the other woman and body slammed her on top of the other woman who had fallen to the ground.
After body slamming the second woman, Lawson then repeatedly stomped on her head and threatened to kill her, police say.
The woman who was pushed to the ground reportedly suffered an ulnar fracture and may require surgery to repair the bone. The victim who was body slammed suffered knee, neck, and rib pain. Both were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Magisterial District Court Judge Stephen Bayer approved an arrest warrant for Lawson on Monday. He’s being charged with two counts of simple assault and one count of making terroristic threats, all misdemeanors.
