Trucking Company, Driver Cited After Rollover Crash Last Week at Burma Rd. Intersection

A trucking company and a truck driver were cited this week for a rollover crash that happened on June 11 at the intersection of Burma Rd. and Morea Rd.

PA Direct Logistics Inc., of Upper Darby, Delaware County, was cited by Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Gregory Monaghan for operating a truck hauling residential waste with an expired inspection and no insurance.

The inspection expired and insurance lapsed in May 2025.

The driver of the truck in that crash, Kyle Taylor, of Pottstown, received a citation for driving at an unsafe speed.

Shortly after 9 a.m. last Wednesday, Taylor was behind the wheel of a Freighliner truck hauling trash on Morea Rd. in Mahanoy Township. The speed at which Taylor was driving did not allow him to property negotiate a turn onto Burma Rd. and the truck rolled over, spilling much of its load onto the roadway.

No injuries were reported, according to police.

Monaghan tells The Canary that it appeared the truck was hauling residential waste. He could not confirm if the truck was en route to BRADS Landfill, which is located on the opposite end of Burma Rd.

Coal Region Canary has reported on at least one trucking company that’s received thousands of dollars in fines for operating unsafe vehicles en route to BRADS Landfill, which had multiple safety violations discovered during on-site inspections there.

The PA Direct Logistics vehicle involved in last week’s crash was not cited for any safety violations. The citations filed against the company carry with it fines and costs of $647.69, if it’s found guilty.
