Alleged Shooter in Saint Clair Walmart Incident Pondering Plea Deal on Lesser Charge

Rayhiem Mitchell has been offered a chance at less jail time.

The alleged shooter in the November 2024 Saint Clair Walmart melee is currently pondering a plea deal in the case.

Rayhiem Mitchell, 22, was allegedly jumped inside the Walmart store by two men, Tyre Dunn, 36, and Jaheim Gregory, 22. During the scuffle, Mitchell is alleged to have pulled a gun and fired a warning shot toward the ceiling.

That prompted an evacuation of the store and a massive police response.

After several months, charges were eventually filed by police in Saint Clair.

Dunn and Gregory recently entered guilty pleas related to the incident but Dunn’s legal troubles are far from over. He’s facing a pair of attempted murder and arson charges for his alleged actions earlier this year in which he’s accused of setting a home on fire with a Molotov cocktail and then trying to kill a pair of FBI agents while he was on the run.

As for Mitchell, he was charged with a felony for concealing a gun in his hoodie during the Walmart Incident. Mitchell reportedly does not have a concealed carry permit.

If he is found guilty on that charge, Mitchell could be sentenced to a state prison term.

However, during a status conference in the case on Wednesday inside Courtroom 1 at Schuylkill County Courthouse, it was revealed that Mitchell has been offered a plea deal by District Attorney Mike O’Pake.

Mitchell is considering pleading guilty on a lesser charge and taking a 30-day to 23-month sentence in Schuylkill County Prison. The lesser charge was not disclosed during Wednesday’s court appearance.

The case was continued to June 25.
