Schuylkill County Woman Arrested for Exposing Herself, Yelling at Convenience Store Customers

Indecent exposure and other charges filed

A Schuylkill County woman is facing several charges after police say she was exposing herself and yelling at customers outside a local convenience store.

According to court documents, police in Tamaqua were called to a convenience store on Center St. on the night of April 16. An employee of the store told police that a woman – identified as 44-year-old Cory Matalavage – was standing outside yelling at people, stumbling around, and wasn’t wearing a shirt.

When police arrived, they say they encountered Matalavage. She was standing in front of the store wearing a camo jacket that was fully unzipped. Matalavage wasn’t wearing a shirt under the jacket, exposing herself to anyone that could see her.

Customers were at the gas pumps at the time, police say.

Matalavage had slurred speech, a raspy voice, and bloodshot eyes with dilated pupils, police say.

She was placed in handcuffs. As police put the cuffs on her, Matalavage allegedly said, “Oh yeah, you like that, don’t you?”

Police patted down her pockets and as the pockets were emptied, Matalavage reportedly pushed herself back into an officer and said, “(BLEEP) me harder, daddy.”

Back at the police station, Matalavage was placed in a holding cell. As she was sobering up, police say Matalavage admitted to drinking a bottle of liquor that night. EMS personnel provided Matalavage with clothing while she was in holding, police say.

Charges of indecent exposure, open lewdness, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness have been filed against Matalavage.
