National Weather Service has placed Schuylkill County under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch and a Flood Watch for Saturday, Aug. 3.
The Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 9 p.m. tonight. A Flood Watch is in effect until 10 p.m.
According to National Weather Service, slow-moving downpours are being tracked across central Pennsylvania this afternoon. These downpours could cause excessive rain to fall in a short period of time and cause flash flooding.
Rivers, creeks, stream, and low-lying areas are particularly prone to flooding from excessive rainfall as are areas of poor drainage that are susceptible to flooding.
