Schuylkill County Commissioners met for their regular Board Meeting on Wednesday morning, Feb. 28, 2024.
This meeting was highlighted by a robust Public Comment portion, which featured plenty of back-and-forth by some members of the public and the Commissioners.
This marks a great departure from meetings in the past and has become an early hallmark of public sessions in the Padora era.
The discussion at this meeting focused on meetings held last week between the Commissioners and three companies operating in western Schuylkill County.
Natural Soil Products, Liberty Processing & Soils, and Stavola-Summit Materials have been the subject of some sharp criticism by some in western Schuylkill County concerning noxious odors which they say has marred their quality of life.
While the Commissioners have said their power is limited in dealing with these issues, the meetings last week represent a step toward determining how the County government might be able to provide some sort of relief to those residents of that area.

Trying to listen to the meeting with someone coughing incessantly in the background. Please place microphones where background noise is limited. Thank you
