Eagles, Canes Remain Undefeated in League Play

Eagles at 6-0, Canes at 7-0

Blue Mountain and Schuylkill Haven Area continued their unblemished seasons atop Divisions I and II in the Schuylkill League on Tuesday with convincing victories.

Blue Mountain (6-0) remains a half-game ahead of North Schuylkill in Division I while Schuylkill Haven Area (7-0) maintained a two-game lead over Marian Catholic and Minersville Area.

Here are results from Tuesday’s action from Schuylkill League golf teams:

Blue Mountain 314, Panther Valley 396

Dylan Knittle led the way for the Eagles, firing a match-low 74 to claim medalist honors at Schuylkill Country Club. Blue Mountain built a team total with three sub-80 cards, getting strong support from Max Fleagle (78), Logan Valentine (79), and Owen Crossen (83).

Panther Valley was led by Spencer Schirer, who carded a team-best 86. Callie Kosciolek (100), Michael Demyanovich (103), and Jake Kattner (107) completed the top four counting scores for the Panthers.

Marian 305, Weatherly 315

Brayden Grant captured match medalist honors for the Colts, firing a team-low adjusted score of 71 after a 2-under 34 on the front nine. Marian built its winning total with strong supporting cards from Carter Grant (74), Patrick Bonner (77), and Collin Yurkanin (83).

Weatherly put together a deep team effort led by Brad Connors, who turned in a team-best 77. Eli Brown (78), along with matching 80s from Jacob Hinkle and Chance Stauffer, completed the top four counting scores for the Wreckers.

Pottsville 362, Pine Grove 365

Pine Grove’s Evan Moyer captured match medalist honors with a team-low 86, followed by Mason Troutman (87), Kaiden Umbenhauer (91), and Liam Levan (101) or Bryce Heim (101).

Pottsville answered Moyer’s low round by packing all four of its counting cardholders into a tight four-stroke window between 89 and 92. Danny Markus led the Crimson Tide with an 89, supported by Brody Kline (90), Connor Woll (91), and Colton Oswald (92) to secure the victory.

Schuylkill Haven 306, Pine Grove 365

Alan Evans and Eli Barton led the Hurricanes, sharing co-medalist honors with matching rounds of 75. Schuylkill Haven sealed the victory with Chase Maley (76) and Giuliana Hughes (80), putting all four counting cards at 80 or better.

Pine Grove was led by Evan Moyer, who carded a team-best 86. Mason Troutman (87), Kaiden Umbenhauer (91), and Liam Levan (101) or Bryce Heim (101) completed the counting scores for the Cardinals.
