National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Schuylkill County.
The Flood Watch is in effect from 2 p.m. Sunday through Monday evening. Excessive rainfall is possible during this time.
Forecasters say multiple rounds of slow moving thunderstorms are expected with torrential downpours and intense rain rates over 2 inches per hour possible. Localized rainfall totals could exceed 5 inches. While there remains some uncertainty to exactly where the greatest rainfall will occur, the setup favors some locally significant flash flooding.

According to the latest 7-day forecast for Pottsville, showers and thunderstorms are expected after 5 p.m. Sunday. A high of 86 degrees is expected.
Tonight, the heaviest rainfall is expected, with thunderstorms possible. Rainfall amounts between 2-3 inches is likely.
This will all bring welcome relief from the oppressive heat wave on Monday, when showers and possibly a thunderstorm are still expected to bring up to a half-inch of rain.
The best news from this … the high temperature for Monday is just 73 degrees. Showers are likely into Tuesday, when the high temperature will still be below 80 degrees.
