Schuylkill County Man Wanted on Drug Charges Filed by State Attorney General

Joseph Reed III allegedly admits to selling meth from home.

A Schuylkill County man is wanted by authorities after a search of his home last year resulted in the discovery of nearly 56 grams of methamphetamine.

A document filed on April 24 before District Court Judge AJ Serina by an investigator with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office alleges that Joseph Reed III sold meth from his home at 14 Parkway in Schuylkill Haven.

On Sept. 5, police and agents from the AG’s office met Reed at his home after he’d dropped off his child for the school bus that morning.

During a search of his home in Schuylkill Haven, authorities say they recovered a cache of firearms, $725 in cash, a gray pouch containing two bags of a substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine, a measuring spoon, a digital scale, and a plate with loose meth on it.

Of the cash recovered during the search, $60 of it was allegedly money used in a controlled buy conducted by the AG’s office.

These items were all located either in a third-floor bedroom or third-floor office.

During an interview with Reed at his home, he allegedly admitted to storing and selling meth from his home. Reed was released following the search on his home, pending the results of their investigation.

On Nov. 26, 2024, test results showed authorities that the seized substances during that September search was, indeed, methamphetamine. Authorities say it weighed out to 55.9 grams.

Reed is facing a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver, and misdemeanors for drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
