Happy Sunday Canary Crew! Thanks for checking out my best FREE NFL Week 16 DFS Lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings. We’re down to just two more weeks of regular season action and I’m excited to get things going this week.
I hope you came along for the ride last week because it was a CLEAN SWEEP on both sites! Our FanDuel lineup scored 154.72 points and our DraftKings lineup went for 166.06. I hope you rode with me and made some Christmas CASH! My FLASHLIGHT’S CORE plays worked out great as we exceeded value thanks to big games from Chris Carson, Keenan Allen, Terry McLaurin, Zach Ertz and the Patriots Defense. Darius Slayton was the only letdown but he still scored a TD so he wasn’t a complete bust.
This week I’ll be working hard to grow our winnings from last week into more money so we can sit atop a throne of cash this evening.
As always, I’m available via Twitter @FlashlightDFS if you have questions about building your lineups on DFS or general fantasy football questions.
So here it is, my best FREE NFL Week 16 Lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings.
THE FLASHLIGHT’S CORE
These are “my guys” this week who I’m using on both sites and a little analysis of why I’m on them.
RUNNING BACK
Marlon Mack – Yes, Mack has been quiet since his return from a broken hand. Yes, the Colts are dead and buried this season. Howevah…Mack is a great value this week vs. the Panthers who haven’t been able to stop the run this season and are a shell of themselves post-Ron Rivera. Indy still has a great O line and I think Colts head coach Frank Reich is going to want to bury the Panthers and he’ll do it with Mack behind this massive O line. Mack hasn’t produced a lot since his return but he has faced the #1 Run D in Tampa Bay and the #10 in New Orleans (also a massive blowout loss). Though he doesn’t catch it much, Mack still gets 18 carries/game and I expect that number to be north of 22 this week.
Devonta Freeman – I was all over Freeman two weeks ago and he paid us off handsomely going 17/84/1 on the ground and 4/10 receiving. That was against the lowly Panthers (see above) and this week he gets the lowlier (?) Jaguars who are equally inept at stopping the run. Freeman has been the feature back since his return from injury on Thanksgiving weekend and I want a piece of a feature back vs. the Jags D. Freeman is an excellent value play this week considering usage and match up.
WIDE RECEIVER
Look, I desperately want to play Michael Thomas this week but I couldn’t get comfortable with a super value WR required to make that build work. So, I’m going with these three excellent options all priced under market value.
Keenan Allen – Yep, we’re going back to the well again. Last week I was on Allen and his posted up a solid 9/99 game. This week he’s up against the Raiders who are a bottom 5 pass defense. Let me remind you of where Allen ranks among his WR peers: Targets (8th), Catches (4th), Yards (14th), TD (29th). Pretty good for a guy priced in the mid-tier.
Terry McLaurin – Hey Flashlight, be ORIGINAL! Yeah I was on McLaurin last week too and he torched the Eagles for 5/130/1, thank me very much. This week he’s working against the Giants and their trash can defense. Again, McLaurin represents tremendous value for a guy with 7 TD on the season, 2 TD in the last 2 weeks and a juicy match up against a bottom 5 pass defense in the Giants.
Tyler Boyd – Two weeks ago I was on Boyd and he went 7/75 vs. the Browns. He didn’t do squat against the Pats last week but gets the Dolphins this week who are a bottom 8 unit vs. the pass this week in the “Joe Burrow Bowl”. The Bengals are in the drivers seat for the #1 pick but this is the NFL and if you think that Andy Dalton will tank you’re wrong. Dalton is interviewing for his next team and will not want to put trash on tape. Boyd is the most talented receiver of the bunch and will take advantage.
TIGHT END
Zach Ertz – Ertz has been on fire recently and if you ignore the absolute shit show of a game in Miami (which I will choose to do) the Eagles TE has been averaging 11.8 targets, 8.8 catches, 88 yards and has 5 TD over that span. There are 0.0 WR options for the Eagles and they’re playing for the season today so I’m confident Ertz sees 10+ targets and should be productive with them.
DEFENSE
Pittsburgh Steelers – The Steelers D has been a machine this season and they get the Jets this week who have well documented offensive struggles. I fully expect the Steelers D to come out of the gate on fire knowing it’s largely on them to win this game. Yes, I’m a Steelers fan but that’s not why I love them this week. They have 49 sacks (1st), 19 interceptions (2nd), 16 fumble recoveries (1st) and have scored 4 TDs. Pittsburgh controls their own destiny and its the defense that will lead them to the playoffs.
FANDUEL
THE FLASHLIGHT’S CORE PLUS:
QB – Lamar Jackson – Here’s why I’m spending up to Lamar this week: The Ravens lock up home field advantage with a win this week vs. Cleveland so there is PLENTY of motivation to win on the Baltimore side. The Browns handed the Ravens a home loss earlier this season. If I know one thing about the Harbaugh boys it’s that they hold a grudge well. John will be looking to stick it to the Browns. In the September loss, Lamar still balled out going 244/3TD in the air and added 66 rush yards. And, oh yeah, Jackson is virtually a lock for NFL MVP. If that’s not enough reasons for you to play him, then I don’t know what to tell you.
FLEX – Jacob Hollister – I’m not flexing a TE just because it worked last week (it did). I look at it this way. Hollister has seen nearly 6 targets/game since taking over for Will Dissly. Russell Wilson has been comfortable throwing to him and the TE is a part of the Seahawks red zone offense. He’s playing Arizona who we all know bleed points and TD to the TE position. In this price range I’ll take a 6 targets and the best player vs. team match up of the week.
DRAFTKINGS
THE FLASHLIGHT’S CORE PLUS:
QB – Andy Dalton – Ah the Red Rifle. Yeah he was total shit last week but it was the Patriots so I’ll give him a pass. I like Dalton for the same reason I like Tyler Boyd. There are going to be a lot of people on Joe Mixon and for good reason but I like Dalton to take advantage of a weak Dolphins pass D. He’s priced so low that we only really need him to get 250/1 to hit value and anything over that is gravy. I’m gonna hold my nose and play him.
FLEX – DeAndre Washington – Look, this dude ain’t no Josh Jacobs, so if you think he’s gonna produce like that you’re wrong. However, he’ll get volume and catches the ball so he’s a good fit on DK where you get full point PPR. He’s going to be popular due to the price but the last time Jacobs missed Washington got 20 touches (6 catches) for 96 total yards and scored a TD.
That’s it for the week, good luck Canary Crew!
