Every week I’m going to go through and look at my player picks for my Week 3 DFS Review – Who Helped Us and Who Hurt Us (and why).
We hit the money over on FanDuel this week with a total of 130.44 points. As I’ve said before, the large majority of my play is on FanDuel, so it was a good week! Our DraftKings lineup came up short of the cash game pay lines with 141.96 points.

FanDuel
The average cash game pay line this week was 128.86 points, my cash game lineup scored 130.44.
DraftKings
The average cash game pay line this week was 157.96 points, my cash game lineup scored 141.96.
Who Helped
These are the guys I wrote up in my article Week 3 Players I Love on FanDuel and DraftKings that helped us across the pay line.
QB – Brady, Wentz and Allen had solid efforts. Stafford didn’t kill us but his yards didn’t get there because Detroit scored one special teams TD and had two short field drives from Eagles turnovers.
RB – CMC, Cook, Ingram, Freeman all paid off. Zeke, while still a decent game was so/so due to no TD.
WR – Julio, Edelman, Agholor, Larry Fitz all worked out well.
TE – Evan Engram was my guy, I played him on both sites and he paid off big time.
DEF – Dallas, Pats both paid off and if you paid down to San Fran you did OK too.
Who Hurt (and why)
Here are the guys who hurt us, and why.
QB – Jimmy Garopollo. Jimmy turned it over 3 times (2 Int, 1 Fumble) or else he would have had a semi-decent day with 277/1.
RB – Mostert & Breida got sniped at the goal line by Jeff Wilson who had 2 TDs on only 18 yards rushing.
WR – Golladay, Marquise Brown and Deebo Samuel all had letdowns. Philly rolled coverage to Golladay leaving Marvin Jones open to clean up with 6/101/1. Marquise Brown saw 9 targets (great) but only caught 2 for 49 yards (not great). Deebo was 3rd on the 49ers with 4 targets which he turned in to 3/44 but Dante Pettis nabbed his short range TD opportunity.
TE – Kittle & Ertz had OK days but not for the premium price paid for them. Mark Andrews was targeted 7 times but only pulled in 3 for 15 yards so the air came out of his balloon pretty quickly this week.
DEF – N/A.
Looking back at my lineups this week I don’t think I made any errors. Things worked out well on FanDuel. On DraftKings we had three key plays that didn’t go our way. Carson Wentz was stopped at the 1 yard line which cost us a rushing TD (Jordan Howard got it). Devona Freeman could have easily scored from the 2 instead of Austin Hooper. Julian Edelman was tearing up the Jets until he was hurt right before halftime. Those 2 TDs and a second half of Edelman probably would have been enough (they were all under 10% owned), but alas this is life.
That’s a wrap on Week 3. Hope you guys followed my lead on FanDuel and made some money this week along with me! Don’t forget to give me a follow on Twitter @FlashlightDFS I’m happy to answer your DFS or seasonal fantasy football questions.
We’re on to week 4. My Week 4 Players I Love on FanDuel and DraftKings article will be up on Thursday.
