We don’t even know where to begin with this infamous Biden quote gaffe from the 2020 campaign trail.
The former Vice President was at a Teamsters Presidential Candidate Forum and presumably, was trying to explain economics.
Somehow, Biden ended up at the grocery store in the spaghetti sauce aisle and then in the parking lot with the cart attendant and instead of just pushing them, he’s using a forklift … or something.
His exact words, minus the stuttering because we don’t want to be mean, were:
“So, you go ahead and stack spaghetti sauce at a store and a supermarket. You control the guy or the woman who runs the … or brings out the carts on a forklift. What happened?”

This quote is from about 5:00 in this video and he stumbles a bit with his words here but he talking about how labor unions protect workers and how people are often promoted to avoid being given overtime. Not really the “gotcha” that biased twitter influencers want you to think it is, nor really evidence of any severe mental degradation. In fact, this whole speech is pretty coherent and charming compared to many I’ve seen Trump give.

watch the original video, the point he’s making is pretty clear. People should be paid overtime and he’s defending worker protections. Protections that Trump would have dissolved and regularly has thwarted throughout his career, because he’s a rich real estate mafia man who exploits people to get ahead. He is the furthest away from working class American imaginable with wealth directing his entire life, not hard work and earned success.
