Heat Advisory Extended Through Saturday for Schuylkill County

Temps above 90 through the weekend.

UPDATE: This article has been revised from its original publishing to reflect new information.

National Weather Service has now extended a Heat Advisory through 8 p.m. Saturday, June 22, for Schuylkill County.

Heat Index values up to 100 are expected during this time.

The Heat Advisory went into effect at noon on Tuesday, June 18.

New forecast highs for the Pottsville area show temperatures at 89 degrees both Wednesday and Thursday.

Then, things start to really heat up a bit.

The high temperature on Friday is expected to be 93 and a forecast high of 90 is in line for Saturday.

On Sunday, we’re looking at a high of 90 degrees with another chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Overnight lows during this time are expected to range from the upper-60s to low-70s.

Maybe a bit of relief is in sight, however.

The high temperature is expected to be 84 degrees on Monday but that’s a long way away.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible in the area starting Friday through Monday.
