Three Schuylkill County precincts will vote at temporary polling places in Tuesday’s general election, and a fourth has a new one.
Gilberton, Palo Alto’s 2nd Ward, and Shenandoah’s 2nd precinct are all listed as temporary sites on the Schuylkill County Election Bureau’s polling place list. Minersville’s 3rd precinct is listed as a new polling site.
Gilberton voters will cast ballots at the Continental Hose Company, 229 Main St.
Palo Alto 2nd Ward voters will vote at Citizens Fire Company No. 1, 139 W. Bacon St., the same place as the 1st Ward.
Shenandoah’s 2nd precinct will vote at the Shenandoah High Rise, 100 S. Main St., which is also the polling place for the borough’s 3rd precinct.
Minersville’s 3rd precinct moves to Zion Lutheran Church at Fourth and Lewis streets.
Schuylkill County voters on Tuesday will choose a governor and lieutenant governor, a member of Congress in the 9th District, and one of four state representatives.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Anyone in line when the polls close at 8 p.m. can still vote.
First-time voters, and anyone voting in a precinct for the first time, must show ID at the polls. Both photo and non-photo IDs are accepted. A voter who doesn’t have ID can come back with it or must be offered a provisional ballot.
Voters who asked for a mail ballot but would rather vote in person need to bring the ballot and its outer return envelope to the polls so they can be voided. Anyone who no longer has both can vote by provisional ballot.
Completed mail ballots must reach the county Election Bureau by 8 p.m. Tuesday. The Election Bureau is located at 420 N. Centre St., across the street from City Hall, in Pottsville. A ballot that arrives late won’t be counted, even if it was postmarked before Election Day.
The county has 125 precincts. Find yours below by searching for your town, precinct, or address, or tap a precinct to see it on the map.
