National Weather Service has placed Schuylkill County under a Flood Advisory.

The Flood Advisory is currently in effect and expires at midnight. A Flood Watch is still in effect.

NWS believes another half-inch to 1 inch of rain is likely to fall between now and then, with the heaviest rainfall to stop around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Flooding and ponding of water in more urban areas is currently happening or will happen soon, forecasters say. Low-lying and poor drainage areas are also at risk of minor flooding.

Larger creeks and rivers may flood during overnight hours on Wednesday morning.

More than 1 inch of rain has likely already fallen on Schuylkill County.

Widespread power outages are being reported in the area with the number of people in the dark increasing through this evening.
