National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for Schuylkill County.
The Flood Warning is in effect until 4 a.m.
According to an NWS alert, “Streams continue to rise quickly due to excess runoff
from earlier rainfall. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. Local emergency officials have reported water rescues. It will take several hours for all the water to work
through local drainage systems in urban areas.”
NWS says water rescues have been conducted in some areas.Â
According to forecasters, as much as 2.5 inches of rain has fallen. An additional one-tenth of an inch of rain is expected.
Pottsville and Landingville are areas that could experience flooding during the overnight hours as streams continue to rise.
