National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Schuylkill County.
The Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 4 p.m. Thursday until 4 p.m. on Friday.
Heavy snow is expected with the winter storm. The highest elevations could receive 5-12 inches of snow. Ridgetops could receive even more snow.
For lower elevations, which includes much of Schuylkill County, snowfall totals could be between 3-5 inches.
Strong winds accompanying the wet, heavy snow could cause downed power lines and power outages.
Travel may be difficult during the course of the storm.
