National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for Schuylkill County until 9:30 p.m. Thursday, July 4.
The Flood Advisory is necessary due to flooding caused by excessive rainfall this evening. Between 2-2.5 inches of rain has fallen on portions of Schuylkill County in the last few hours.
Minor flooding is being experienced in low-lying areas and places with poor drainage. More flooding is possible.
Areas that could see flooding, according to NWS, include:
Pottsville, Schuylkill Haven, Minersville, Orwigsburg, Tremont, Friedensburg, Mar Lin, Renningers, Branchdale, Donaldson, McKeansburg, Lake Wynonah, Cressona, Palo Alto, Hegins, Auburn, Deer Lake, Ravine, Muir and Port Clinton.

About an hour ago, members of Pottsville Fire Dept. were summoned to the arch in Mt. Carbon for a trapped vehicle as the road quickly became flooded.
