Schuylkill County has been placed under a Wind Advisory until 6 p.m. Saturday evening.
National Weather Service says steady wind out of the west-northwest will clock at 20-25 mph. Gusts could reach 50 mph today.
Unsecured objects and tree limbs are vulnerable to these strong gusts and that could lead to power outages in the area.
Saturated ground from this week’s rain could fell trees and also knock out power and cause danger to motorists if the trees come down on the road.
Overall for Saturday, light morning showers should dry up by about noon. Forecasters are predicting a relatively chilly day today, with a high temp of just 49 degrees.
Wind gusts should also die down a bit Saturday night but strong winds – probably not strong enough to warrant another Advisory, however – will continue through Sunday.
