A Barnesville man died last week when he and his ATV went into a fishing pond.
According to information released Wednesday by State Police in Frackville, troopers responded to the Locust Valley Fish & Game in Ryan Township just after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 27.
They were called to the scene after a man and an ATV were discovered in a fishing pond behind the Fish & Game.
Police say 72-year-old Arthur Heckman was pronounced dead at the scene by the Schuylkill County Coroner’s Office.
The Ryan Township Public Safety Dive Team recovered Heckman and the ATV from the fishin pond.
A police investigation has determined that Heckman had been fishing at that pond before he and the ATV entered the water, causing him to die. No other details have been released.
An investigation into this incident is ongoing.
