Palak Dilawari wanted to create a place for kids to hang out in Saint Clair.
The borough has its share of smoke and vape shops and Skill games businesses so on Tuesday, she opened the door to Sugar Bytes, an ice cream parlor.
Sugar Bytes is located on the main drag in Saint Clair, at 22 N. 2nd St.
Inside, patrons are greeted with vibrant backgrounds and a fun atmosphere. The ice cream shop features hard ice cream, milkshakes, and a wall of self-serve soft serve machines adjacent to a wall of toppings for that ice cream.
There’s even a case of delicious handmade desserts that are brought in from a local baker.
“We don’t have many places like this,” Dilawari, 26, tells The Canary. “I wanted to open something for the kids.”
On Tuesday, Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce helped celebrate the grand opening of Sugar Bytes with a ribbon cutting ceremony, attended by business leaders and government officials.
