Launch Pottsville Finalist – Ruthless Performance Athlete Development Lab

The founder explains why he wants to move his business to Pottsville.

Pottsville Area Development Corp. just released the next video introduction from a finalist in the Launch Pottsville business contest, Ruthless Performance Athlete Development Lab. The owner of this established business wants to win the Launch Pottsville competition to expand the operation and move into the downtown business center.

Launch Pottsville’s goal is to develop new business owners in the city. PADCO believes the winners of this year’s contest, to be decided in a few months, will be up and running before the end of the year.

The initial entry field for the Launch Pottsville contest has been narrowed down and the public can learn a little bit about each of the finalists.

Launch Pottsville Business Contest Finalist – Ruthless Performance Athlete Development Lab

Ruthless Performance Athlete Development Lab is founded by John Matulevich. He’s a Saint Clair native.

“It’s very qualitative,” he describes his current business operation. “What I’m looking for is to scale that into something that could affect a very large chunk of the population in Schuylkill County.”

Matulevich wants to win Launch Pottsville to open a strength and conditioning facility in the city. It would be able to offer different modalities for local athletes that aren’t currently available in the area, things like cryotherapy.

These videos are part of Phase 2 of the Launch Pottsville competition, a chance for the public to learn about the . The winner at the end gets $150,000 in cash and pro bono services to help start their business.

During Phase 2, the Launch Pottsville finalists work with local mentors to refine their business plan and goals. They also get a chance to scout some real estate in Pottsville as a potential location for their business.

The contest ends with a Shark Tank-style elevator pitch presentation in front of an audience at Schuylkill YMCA on April 28.
