State Police announced this week, they’ve made an arrest in the theft of a refrigerator and fire hoses in New Ringgold.
Earlier this week, we reported that someone swiped a large, stainless steel refrigerator containing two 100-foot fire hoses from the New Ringgold Community Fire Company.
A lot of readers asked …
- Did they mean from the fire house?
- What were the hoses doing in the refrigerator?
- Was it a dryer, maybe?
- What’s up with the truck’s paint job?
You can tell we’re all a little bored. The so-called quarantine and deluge of coronavirus “news” has us thirsting for something different.
We’ve not seen traffic on a story like that since the big UFO sighting earlier in April.

Arrest Made in New Ringgold Fire Hose Theft
State Police at Frackville reported recently that they’ve made an arrest in the case. Two days after we published the original story, someone finally noticed it and shared it on social media. By the time thousands had finally read it, we heard from PSP that an arrest had been made.
Police took 32-year-old Bryan McLaughlin, of Tamaqua, into custody when his truck was spotted in Tamaqua.
McLaughlin faces a theft charge related to this incident. Charges were filed on Friday morning before District Judge James Ferrier.
Ferrier set a preliminary hearing for July 7 at 9:30 a.m., according to court documents.
