A $4 million project to improve Route 309 in Schuylkill County gets underway today, April 20, and motorists are being urged to allow extra time if they use this road for their commute.
The project will span from Ben Titus Rd. to Lofty Rd., between Rush and Kline townships. Long-term lane restrictions are expected on Route 309, both north and south, PennDOT says. This stretch of road sees about 15,640 vehicles daily.
Updates will be provided whenever traffic pattern schedules change.
Roadwork will include milling, concrete patching, shoulder reconstruction, replacing of the center median curbing, paving, drainage updates, and guide rail updates.
