Several thousand people are expected to converge on Pottsville Saturday for the annual Yuengling Light Lager Jogger 5K race.
Setting up for the event begins on Friday in the city and with that brings parking and traffic restrictions. Here’s what travelers and commuters need to know to get around Pottsville the next two days:
There will be no parking in the vendor staging area – on Mahantongo St., between 3rd and 7th streets, and on 5th St., between Mahantongo and Norwegian streets – from 7 a.m. on Friday until all post-race activities are over on Saturday.
No parking or vehicular traffic will be allowed along the entire race route (below) starting on Saturday at 6 a.m. until about noon.

Here is the race course spelled out:
West on Mahantongo St (from 7th St to 19th St)
North on 19th St (from Mahantongo St to Norwegian St)
West on Norwegian St (from 19th St to 22nd St)
South on 22nd St (from Norwegian St to Mahantongo St)
East on Mahantongo St (from 22nd St to 20th St)
South on 20th St (from Mahantongo St to Howard Ave)
East on Howard Ave (from 20th St to 12th St)
North on 12th St (from Howard Ave to Mahantongo St)
East on Mahantongo St (from 10th St to the Finish line)
