Strong winds knocked out PPL Electric service to nearly 5,000 residential and business customers in Schuylkill County Wednesday night.
By Thursday morning, many of those without power had service restored. But as of 1 p.m. on Thursday, some are still without power
Wind gusts to 50 mph left many in the dark across the coal region and in other areas serviced by PPL.
As of 1 p.m., many of those without power have had service restored. However, more than 100 in Wayne Township are still without power.
Here’s the list of outages by municipality:
- Cass Twp: 122
- Hegins Twp: 80
- North Union Twp: 114
- Orwigsburg Boro: 5
- Pine Grove Twp: 1
- Porter Twp: 18
- Rush Twp: 39
- South Manheim Twp: 5
- Tamaqua Boro: 4
- Washington Twp: 192
- Wayne Twp: 568
- West Brunswick Twp: 210
- West Mahanoy Twp: 380
- West Penn Twp: 954
