2 Dead, 1 Critical Following Overnight Shooting Incident in Shenandoah

9-1-1 caller received text … “Everyone’s dead.”

Two men are dead and one woman is in critical condition following an overnight shooting incident on W. Centre St. in Shenandoah.

According to Pennsylvania State Police Troop L Public Information Officer Ethan Brownback, officers from several municipal police departments in Schuylkill County were dispatched to 307 W. Centre St. at about 1 a.m.

A female 9-1-1 caller reportedly said she’d gotten a text message that read, “Everyone’s dead.” She told dispatchers that everyone inside 307 W. Centre St. was dead.

Officers from Shenandoah, Frackville, Mahanoy and West Mahanoy townships responded to the scene at about 1 a.m., Brownback says.

Police made forcible entry into the row home and encountered a younger juvenile male who reportedly told them, “I need help. Daddy just shot mom and granddad.”

An older deceased male was found on a couch on the first floor.

Police then heard a gunshot coming from the second floor of the home.

When police searched the upstairs of the home, they found a deceased male outside of a bedroom and a female in critical condition.

The female was airlifted to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, where she is currently in the Intensive Care Unit, Brownback says.

The two males and female were all observed to have suffered gunshot wounds, Brownback says.

State Police’s Major Case team was activated at about 1:30 a.m. Brownback says PSP’s Forensic Services Unit and Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Specialist (CARS) unit along with the Schuylkill County Coroner’s Office assisted in the investigation, which remains active as of 10 a.m. Thursday.

Names of the victims will be released upon notification of Next of Kin, Brownback says. He says this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.

Anyone with information that can assist in the investigation is asked to call the State Police-Frackville barracks at 570-874-5300.
