About 180 protesters attended a No Kings rally Saturday morning in Schuylkill County.
The demonstrators held signs and performed standard chants along Route 61 in Saint Clair, near the Coal Creek Commerce Center.
While standing behind a barrier along the side of the highway, protesters got a mix of supportive honks, disapproving heckles, and a few middle fingers sent their way.

Despite the steady light rain that fell throughout the hour-long protest, Todd Zimmerman, chairman of the Schuylkill County Democratic Committee, which organized the protest, says he was “very happy” with the turnout.
“I didn’t know we would get this many people, so this is great,” Zimmerman says.
The No Kings protest in Saint Clair mirrored that of about 1,500 happening or planned nationwide on Saturday.

Protesters tell The Canary that they came out to demonstrate on Saturday because they believe Donald Trump is a fascist “king” and they’re displeased with his actions since taking office for his second term as President in January.
“I don’t think we need a fascist king in the White House,” Lauren Versailles, of Lake Wynonah, says.
Versailles says Trump “throws his power around” and the one issue that really brought her out Saturday to protest was the President sending National Guard units to Los Angeles to quell riots against Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers.

“I don’t appreciate that he is sending militant forces to California when they didn’t even ask for them and it’s not needed,” she adds. “It doesn’t make any sense. He doesn’t make sense.”
Rachel Keck, of Orwigsburg, says she attended Saturday’s rally also because of the actions of ICE and because she feels Trump is “dismantling the education system.”
“There’s so many issues to cover. I’m worried about the future for my children,” Keck says, adding that, “He’s using ICE to attack people who deserve to be here.”

Haylee Burns (top photo), of Tamaqua, says there was no singular issue that led her to bring a bullhorn to Saturday’s protest and lead the crowd in chants for an hour.
“It’s just a whole bunch of issues. And it’s not normal,” she says. “A President does not act like this. History repeats itself, so it’s a repeat but just in America instead of Germany. And it just has to stop.”

All who were at the rally didn’t vote for Trump to begin with. Trump was elected and is keeping his promises to those who voted for him. Ask yourself one question, as a Republic, could we have continued down the path with open borders, illegal migration, deficit, unfair trade ? Trump hit the ground running and is making America great again and that just makes the democrats mad and envious.

Publishing a photo to a news story in no way “promotes” the message in the image. Would you rather we pretend it didn’t happen?

I think the Canary is trying to show the stupidity and violence promotion by the Democrap protesters, not hurt President Trump.

How do you get the dumbest people in Schuylkill County at one gathering, schedule a No kings gathering. These people do not represent Schuylkill County (2 to 1 Republican majority) or America.

To the bald headed leftist holding the Stephen Miller sign, learn how to spell. Supremacist is not spelled supremist. Are we supposed to take these losers serious when they obviously didn’t get a proper education. They were too busy protesting to find a job or finish school. Definitely not the brightest bulbs at this gathering.
