A portion of Route 61 will close for about 26 hours this Sunday into early Monday morning as road crews complete a traffic pattern shift.
The highway will close between Terry Rich Blvd. in Saint Clair and Interstate 81 outside Frackville from 3 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, to 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2.
A PennDOT contractor will use the shutdown to move all Route 61 traffic onto the newly built southbound side as part of the ongoing Route 61 Reconstruction project.
Motorists should use detours on US 209, Route 901, and I-81, PennDOT says.
The roadway is scheduled to reopen at 5 a.m. Monday.
