The state has awarded $453,881 in funding to replace the deteriorating Clark Street Bridge over Good Spring Creek in Donaldson, a project deemed critical for Frailey Township due to its high traffic volume, including residents, employers, construction vehicles, and first responders.
The project is a priority for township officials as the bridge plays a vital role in local transportation. An additional $100,000 from the Multimodal Transportation Fund was allocated to the project earlier in 2024.
“Upkeeping our roads and bridges is an important piece of building strong communities, yet these projects can be very expensive for local governments,” said Sen. Dave Argall (R-29). “I’m grateful this highly competitive state funding will help make Donaldson safer for motorists.”
State Rep. Joanne Stehr (R-107) emphasized the importance of investing in local infrastructure to ensure safety and connectivity.
“Investing in our local infrastructure is crucial to ensuring safe and reliable transportation for our communities,” Stehr says in a release. “This funding will help replace the Clark Street Bridge, providing a much-needed improvement for residents and travelers in the 107th District and across the region. I’m happy to see support for critical projects that enhance safety and connectivity in our communities.”
