Greater Pottsville Area Sewer Authority board members voted unanimously Wednesday to remove the Acting from Joe Spotts’ title and name him as the Executive Director.
Spotts had been moved from Project Manager to Acting Executive Director following the retirement of Tim Yingling from the head position earlier this year.
Board President Barry Dewitt said there were two applicants for the Executive Director job: Spotts and William Orlowsky.
The candidates were reviewed over the last month and Spotts was chosen among the two. Spotts will receive a salary of $110,000. It was also unanimously approved to advertise for candidates for the Project Manager position.
Public meeting dates were also set for 2025 at Wednesday’s session. Those dates are: Jan. 29, Feb. 26,, March 26, April 30, May 28, June 25, July 30, Aug. 27, Sept. 24, Oct. 29, Nov. 19, Dec. 17.
Also, the planned renovation of the Sewer Authority office on the third floor of City Hall is expected to begin in early December. The project should last about six weeks.
