Minersville is looking to fill a vacant seat on its Borough Council.
At their June 11 meeting, council members voted to accept the resignation of Councilwoman Ashley Securda.
Securda is resigning due to moving outside Minersville.
She originally submitted a resignation letter in early May but because their house didn’t sell, Council President Ian Mahal said, the rest of council didn’t accept the resignation at that time.
However, they decided at their most recent meeting to accept Securda’s resignation.
Now, the search is on for someone within the borough to fill Securda’s vacated seat.
Minersville is accepting letters of interest from anyone who wants to serve on its Borough Council. Those letters can be submitted to the Borough office at 2 E. Sunbury St. no later than July 5 at 3 p.m.
