Jury selection in the murder trial of a man accused of killing a Pottsville mother last February is scheduled to begin on Monday at Schuylkill County Courthouse.
Jared Rahim Abdul-Ali, 23, is facing first-degree and third-degree homicide and a host of other charges in a criminal trial that’s scheduled to commence on Tuesday in Courtroom 1 before President Judge Jacqueline Russell.
Abdul-Ali is accused of killing 22-year-old Destiny Duckett on Feb. 13, 2023, at Market Square Apartments in Pottsville.
Previous reports indicate Abdul-Ali confessed to police to killing Duckett. Abdul-Ali was in prison, picked up on another charge, at the time police interviewed him.
When police discovered Duckett’s body inside her city apartment, they say they also found a crying infant at the scene, too.
