Police have arrested a man they say admits to killing a Pottsville woman about a week ago.
Jared Rahim Abdul-Ali, 22, was booked today with third-degree murder in connection with the death of 22-year-old Destiny Duckett, of Pottsville, back on Feb. 13 at the Market Square Apartments complex in the city.
Abdul-Ali also faces charges of aggravated assault, strangulation, and endangering the welfare of children, court records and media reports show.
WFMZ-TV reports that Abdul-Ali confessed to killing Duckett in interviews conducted by Pottsville Police while he was being held at Schuylkill County Prison.
He was there after being picked up on another charge, violating a previous court order, on the same day he allegedly killed Duckett.
Abdul-Ali was committed to the county lockup and denied bail by District Magistrate James Reiley.
A preliminary hearing for Abdul-Ali is scheduled for March 3 in Pottsville, court records show.
