National Weather Service is urging people traveling tonight and early next morning for New Year’s Eve festivities to be cautious on the roads.
A light snow is expected to fall on Schuylkill County starting this evening and into tonight.
Forecasters say that although the road temperatures are above freezing right now, that’ll drop as the air temperature drops tonight toward freezing.
This combination of light snow and steadily freezing road temperatures could lead to slick travel conditions tonight when more people than normal are expected to be driving late at night.
NWS also warns of the dangers of black ice. They say roads that appear wet could actually be icy.
