A Schuylkill County man faces a disorderly conduct charge after police busted him doing donuts on New Year’s Day.
Police eventually caught up to Jeremy Walters, 37, of Pine Grove, when they pulled him over in Tremont just after midnight Sunday.
They say Walters was causing a disturbance in the area of an Exxon gas station in Ravine, outside Pine Grove. Witnesses told police they saw Walters behind the wheel of a gray Dodge Dakota, driving out of control and doing donuts outside the gas station.
Police were told Walters fired a gun in the direction of the gas station.
Walters fled that scene and headed toward Tremont. There, he was also seen driving fast and doing donuts in the road. And that’s where police eventually caught up to him.
After an investigation, it was determined that Walters did not fire a gun. Instead, the sound the witnesses at the gas station heard was, in fact, another vehicle backfiring at the same time.
