Pottsville Man Dies in Gordon Nagle Trail Crash Thursday
A Pottsville man was killed Thursday afternoon in a crash along Gordon Nagle Trail outside the city.
According to information released this evening from State Police in Schuylkill Haven, the crash happened a little after 3 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of the Gordon Nagle and SPCA Rd. in North Manheim Twp.
Police say 33-year-old Bradley Klare, of Pottsville, was traveling south on the Gordon Nagle in his Chevy Cruze. As he approached the intersection with SPCA Rd., he veered into the northbound lane. Going north at that time was a tractor trailer driven by Lenin Cardenas, 46, of Reading.
As the two vehicles collided, Klare was thrown through his windshield and onto the road in front of his vehicle. Police say Klare wasn’t wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Schuylkill County Coroner’s Office.
Cardenas escaped injury in the crash.
Members of the State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Unit and the Forensic Services Unit are on scene conducting an investigation of the crash.
Yorkville Hose Fire-Rescue, of Pottsville, assisted police at the scene.
