DEVELOPING STORY …
Pennsylvania State Police are currently conducting a homicide investigation in southern Schuylkill County.
The incident happened mid-afternoon Monday along Route 61 near Orwigsburg.
Police have much of the highway blocked (as of 4 p.m.) and are diverting traffic around the scene
According to PSP Public Information Office David Beohm, authorities have a suspect in custody at this time. And there is no danger to the public.
A source tells us the suspect was arrested near Deer Lake.
An unconfirmed report from the Republican Herald newspaper indicates that one person would found dead along Route 61, near the area of the BB&T Bank at the Orwigsburg jughandle.
Other unconfirmed reports indicate the homicide resulted from a road rage incident just prior.
We’ll have more on this story as we learn it. Police have scheduled a presser for this evening.
