A Schuylkill County man finds himself on the wrong side of the law once again after he induced a police chase while riding a motorized scooter earlier this week.
According State Police in Schuylkill Haven, their pursuit of Dean Dubois, of Tremont, on Tuesday night ended with him getting Tased.
Schuylkill County Man Gets Tased After Leading Police on Scooter Chase
But Dubois getting Tased only happened after he led police on a chase with him on a Chinese motorized scooter on Tremont Road.
Just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night, State Police were patrolling an area near Tremont and Molleystown Rds. That’s when they saw Dubois going north on the southbound shoulder of Tremont Rd. He was riding a 2006 Longbo motorized scooter, a relatively popular Chinese-made bike.
However, the taillights were out on Dubois’ scooter so police decided to pull him over. They hit the lights to get Dubois to stop. But Dubois had other ideas Tuesday.
Instead of stopping, Dubois tried getting away. He led police to a wooded area at Exxon Raceway in Tremont Township.
Once he reached the wooded area, Dubois ditched the bike and ran.
He didn’t get far before State Police caught up with him. Police struggled to contain Dubois and he got away once again after a brief struggle. Police then chased Dubois on foot. They told him to stop but again, Dubois kept running.
That’s when police deployed their Taser and stopped Dubois in his tracks and slapped the cuffs on him.
No charges have been filed in District Court over this incident just yet. But a quick search of Dubois’ record shows this isn’t his first driving offense. In fact, Dubois has been trying to get away with traffic and driving infractions not long after he first got his license.
Dubois’ rap sheet dates back to 1998 and many of the times he’s been arrested are related to traffic and driving incidents.

No lights and on the shoulder? ON THE SHOULDER. Just saying…. I just wish they would start pulling over these drivers without a licence, speeding down the streets, not stopping at stop signs, blasting music at 3am,under the influence of drugs alcohol or both, and usually the vehicle is not theirs. Can anyone explain why this is constantly tolerated in Shenandoah??????
