The Schuylkill League has a chance to come home this weekend with a bounty of District XI basketball gold.

A total of 9 teams from the coal region are in different District XI championship games starting Friday evening.

District XI Basketball Finals – Friday Games

Here’s a look at the games starting on Friday night with a District XI title on the line:

Girls Class 1A

Nativity BVM takes on Susquehanna Community at 7:30 p.m. at Martz Hall.

Girls Class 3A

Schuylkill League champs North Schuylkill take on Notre Dame-Green Pond in a 7:30 p.m. tip-off at William Allen.

Boys Class 2A

Schuylkill Haven takes on top-seeded Executive Education Academy in a 6 p.m. contest Friday at Northern Lehigh HS.

Boys Class 5A

The Schuylkill League boys’ champions Pottsville take on Southern Lehigh at 7:30 p.m. at Blue Mountain HS.

Boys Class 4A – Consolation

Tamaqua, despite losing in the semifinals, can still advance in the playoffs with a win in the Class 4A consolation game at Martz Hall vs. Wilson, starting at 6 p.m.

District XI Basketball Finals – Saturday Games

The action continues on Saturday with more games on the schedule:

Girls Class 2A

Top-ranked Mahanoy Area takes on Moravian Academy in a 2:30 p.m. start at Martz Hall on Leap Day.

Girls Class 4A

Jim Thorpe looks to continue its torrid streak through the District XI playoffs in the Class 4A final against Bethlehem Catholic on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Easton.

Girls Class 5A

Blue Mountain looks for a District title in a noon tip-off at Easton against top-seeded Bangor.

Girls Class 4A – Consolation

Tamaqua girls are also in a District XI consolation game. The Lady Raiders take on Allentown Central Catholic on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Martz Hall in a Class 4A tournament game.

Boys Class 1A

Nativity takes on Lincoln Leadership Academy on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Martz Hall with a Class 1A title on the line.

Boys Class 3A

Panther Valley plays Notre Dame-Green Pond in the Class 3A championship on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Easton.
