More Branch Closings for Santander?
It appears this is the first Santander branch to close in 2020 in the U.S. The Spanish bank hasn’t made any announcements on branch closings for 2020.
In 2019, Santander made headlines when it announced the closing of 140 branches in the UK. It didn’t announce any major closings in the US last year. However, it did agree to sell 14 branches located in central Pennsylvania to First Commonwealth Financial Corp., based in Indiana, PA.
According to a Philadelphia Business Journal report, Santander operated 129 branches in Pennsylvania in 2019.
Here are the remaining Santander Bank locations in Schuylkill County once the branch in Shenandoah closes:
- Pottsville
- Schuylkill Haven
- Orwigsburg
- Tamaqua
There are also branches located in Mount Carmel, Shamokin, and Shoemakersville.
