Pottsville Suburbs Agree on Shared Police Force

Port Carbon, Palo Alto, and Mechanicsville agreed to a inter-municipal agreement earlier this week to share police forces.

The deal goes into effect on Saturday, June 1.

This would create the first regional police force in Schuylkill County involving more than two communities. Correct us if we’re wrong.

Essentially, Port Carbon will be covering Palo Alto and Mechanicsville with its police force.

The move is being overwhelmingly welcomed by the public, judging from social media reactions.
