A Pottsville man will spend the next 45 months in a federal prison for meth trafficking and illegally possessing a gun.
The US Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania says Antwain Davender, 38, was sentenced on Thursday to nearly 4 years in prison for his role in trafficking a substance containing methamphetamine between January and April 2022 in Schuylkill County.
At the time of his arrest, Davender had in his possession more than 50 grams of meth. Davender was also in possession of an AR-15, according to the US Attorney’s Office, and since he was already a previously convicted felon, it was illegal for him to have that gun.
Davender’s sentence was imposed by US District Judge Malachy Mannion in federal court in Scranton. His arrest was part of a joint investigation by the FBI and Pottsville Bureau of Police.

Not much of a sentence, obviously a bad actor who deserves a longer sentence.
It used to be possession of a fire arms was a five year sentence.
