Schuylkill County Man Jailed, Charged with Stabbing His Brother in the Neck

Jaejuc held on $25K bail

A Schuylkill County man was jailed Sunday night after he allegedly stabbed his brother in the neck.

Police in Shenandoah say they were called to a home on W. Coal St. at about 3 a.m. Sunday for a reported stabbing. At the scene, police say they encountered the victim, who was bleeding profusely from his neck. He indicated that he’d been stabbed by his brother – later identified as Esteban Jaejuc, who also goes by the name Gregorio Chen Suc, 26, of Shenandoah.

The victim was rushed to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Police say the victim suffered an acute penetrating injury to his left subclavian artery that required surgery to repair. He later was able to be interviewed by police.

During that interview, police learned that Jaejuc was the assailant. Police say they traveled back to the W. Coal St. residence where the incident had occurred and were able to take Jaejuc into custody at about 3:30 p.m.

No details are available on what may have prompted this incident.

Jaejuc was arraigned at about 7:30 p.m. on Sunday before Magisterial District Judge James Reiley and charged with two counts of felony aggravated assault, three misdemeanor counts of simple assault, one misdemeanor count of reckless endangerment, and a summary count of harassment. Reiley set bail at $25,000 and Jaejuc was remanded to Schuylkill County Prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled before Judge Anthony Kilker on May 7.
