National Weather Service says dry and windy conditions this afternoon in Schuylkill County, and all of eastern Pennsylvania, could lead to wildfires or brush fires spreading quickly.
Relative humidity levels between 25-35% combined with winds sometimes gusting to 20 mph prompted this alert from NWS.
Residents are being urged to use caution when handling potential ignition sources like machinery, cigarettes, or matches. Any fire that ignites has the potential to spread quickly under these weather conditions, forecasters says.
