National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning for Schuylkill County overnight tonight.
The Freeze Warning is in effect from midnight until 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 21. A low temperature of 27 degrees is expected during this time.
Frost and freezing conditions have the ability to kill crops and other vegetation as well as outdoor plants. People with outdoor crops and other plants should take preventative steps to reduce or eliminate exposure to these conditions, forecasters say.
NWS issues a Freeze Warning when temperatures are expected to drop below 32 degrees for an extended period of time. Temperatures below 28 degrees, as is forecasted for tonight, have the ability to kill crops and other plants outdoors.
While only a high temperature of 53 degrees is in the forecast for Tuesday, the rest of the week is more Spring-like, with highs in the 60s to about 70 degrees. No more freezing conditions are predicted the rest of this week.
